Advertise in Free PDF Editor
One clearly labelled ad, in front of people who edit PDFs every day
Who sees it
People who edit PDFs on their Mac, Windows or Linux computer: invoices, contracts, forms, reports and scans. They see your ad while they work on their own documents, in the free version of the app. Those who bought the ad-free version see none.
Where it shows
- Between every third page of the document being worked on (after the last page of a shorter one), on the grey around the pages. It’s labelled as an ad, with your name, and is never part of anyone’s PDF: it isn’t saved, printed or exported.
- As wide as the pages, a quarter as high: it grows and shrinks with them as they’re zoomed, and stays in view when they’re zoomed past the window.
- And in a small box at the bottom of the Pages sidebar, beside the document while it’s open: your name, logo, headline and button.
- One advertiser at a time, in every band and box of every free copy of the app.
The ad format
Every ad in the app is said the same way, ours included (here’s ours), and the app lays it out for the band’s size. You send us words, a link and, if you like, pictures:
| Field | What it is | Length |
|---|---|---|
sponsor | Your name, on the band’s “AD” line | 1–40 |
headline | What the ad says, big | 1–60 |
body | A line about it, under the headline (two rows at most) | 0–120 |
short | The ad in a few words, for a small band | 1–40 |
action | Its button: “Try it free”, “See plans”… | 1–24 |
link | Where a click goes: an https address | |
logo | Optional: a square PNG or JPEG, 256 × 256 pixels or more, at most 200 KB, beside your words | |
banner | Optional: a 4:1 PNG or JPEG, 1600 × 400 pixels, at most 600 KB, shown in place of your words when the band is big enough | |
alt | What the banner says, for screen readers | 0–120 |
Lengths are in characters; words are one plain line each. How it shows, as the band gets smaller:
- Big: your banner, or your logo, headline, line and button.
- Medium: your banner, or your logo, headline and button.
- Small: “AD · ” and your short words, on one line.
- Tiny, a far zoomed-out document: “AD”.
At every size, a click anywhere on the band goes to your link.

What we can tell you
Per day, and by system (macOS, Windows, Linux): how many times the app got your ad (each free copy asks about every six hours), how many times it was seen (as advertising counts a viewable impression: at least half of a band on screen for at least a second, each band of a document once), how many times it was clicked, and so its click rate. Nothing about people: no names, addresses, cookies or ids, for you or for us.
What we run
Software, services and products that suit people who work with documents. Not gambling, adult content, get-rich schemes, anything that pretends to be part of the app or the system, or anything misleading. We decide which ads we run, and may say no.
